Hans-Heinz Schneeberger
Hans-Heinz
Schneeberger is the great old man under the Swiss musicians and
violinists. He gave the first performances of Bartoks first violin
concerto and and of the concerto by Frank Martin. His recordings with
ECM remain references. At 77 he still plays at virtuoso level and in
winter he does iceskating. He was performing at the Rüttihubeliade
2004 as our guest of honor. And he will come again in 2005 and
even play the granddad in the childrens fairy tale.
Nico Gerber, M.D.
Nico is a
physician with concert diploma for piano. And what a wonderful friend
and musician he is. Hear him in Schumanns first Sonata (>>sound).
He brings out the whole poetry of Schumanns soul: from childlike
naiveté up to menacing madness. A pity that Nico prefers to be
a doctor and only very rarely can be seduced to be a pianist...

Wonji Kim and Prof. Igor Ozim
Wonji and Prof.
Igor Ozim became for me more than teachers but good friends. Prof.
Ozim knows or finds a solution for every imaginable technical
problem. He treats his many pupils with respect and tolerates their
shortcomings with humour, very necessary when teaching devilish
pirates (like me, in the middle). I ask him for advice even now,
years after my diploma.
